Today I broadcasted Gondo English Lesson during the Gondo Archade Radio Show. It was my second shot.



前回は道で何かを探している外国人の方に話しかけるのに便利なフレーズ　"Are you looking for something?" 「何かお探しですか？」　"I'm looking for --- ." 「～を探しているんですが。」を復習してから、今回のお題 "I'll walk you there."　「そこまで歩いてご案内しますよ。」 を学習しました。

昨日、大学時代の恩師　田中紀男　先生が亡くなりました。
Norio Tanaka, my teacher from college, died yesterday.

７２歳でした。
He was 72 years old.

ダイスは、大学３年半と大学院２年の間、　国際ボランティアサークル　というサークルに所属して積極的にボランティア活動をしていました。　そのときの顧問の先生です。
I belonged to International Volunteer Club for three years and a half at college and another two years at its graduate school. I was so much into the volunteer activities. He was an advisor of this club.

先生が愛知県日進市の市議会議員選挙に立候補したときも、選挙対策委員会の事務局長として応援させていただきました。本当に当選してよかったです．．．
When he decided to fight in this campaign to become a city council member in Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture, I supported him as a general manager of his campaign office. You have no idea how relieved I was when he was elected as the city council member...

先生にはいろんなことを教えていただきました。
I learned so many things from him.

特に国際ボランティアサークルの部長をしていたときは、徹底的に組織論を教えていただきました。
He taught me a lot about how to organize a group of people especially when I became the club representative.

過去何度もご自宅に招いていただき、お相伴にあずかりました。
He used to invite me to his house for meals so many times.

先生のいちばん優れているところは、やはりコミュニケーション能力でした。
The best of his ability was communication.

人脈を広げる力はずば抜けていました。
His human connection network was huge. He was extremely good at making friends.

ダイスは先生のことをいつも尊敬していました。
I looked up to him always, and I will forever.

先生、心からご冥福をお祈りします。
Mr. Tanaka, please rest in peace.

アメリカのニュースで日本のことが取り上げられていたので気になって見てみると、こうあった。
My eyes caught this news in the US.

日本で迷いインコが飼い主の元に戻る。
It goes a lost parakeet returns to its owner.

？

どういうことだ？
What's so special about that?

記事によると、鳥かごから脱走したインコ、警察に保護され３日後に急に飼い主が吹き込んだ自宅の住所を番地までしゃべり始めたのだ。
It says the bird was in custody for three days and on the third day it suddenly started to talk.
What it spoke was, surprisingly, its owner's home address.

そこで飼い主の住所が判明し、無事もといた鳥かごに戻されたというもの。
That's why it went back into its cage.

ある意味飼い主が一枚上手だった感じですね…
So the owner was smarter, then...

せっかく自由の身になったのに…
It once became free...

門前英会話教室のダイスによる

「絵」と「あそび」を主軸においた「えいごイベント」です

「絵」ということで、今回はTOMOYAARTSも参戦！

英語の名札をつくったり、
TOMOYAARTSがこどもたちの自由な発想でどんどん描いていく絵（動物や身の回りの物など）を英語でいってみる連想ゲームや、巨大英語カルタなどをして、遊びながら英語にふれてみましょう♪

私たちが、絵本を読んでもらったり、お絵かきしたり、
遊んだりして自然にしゃべれるようになった日本語。
それと同じように、英語を「絵」や「あそび」を通して自然にみにつけてみませんか？

強調させていただきたいのは、教科書の進み具合に比例して、実際に英語がしゃべれるようになってきているかどうか、ということです。それを判断できるのは、慣れ親しんだ教科書を一度閉じ、自分のことばで英語を話してみること以外ありません。
_{I wanna put emphasis on that you need to close your beloved textbook once in a while and speak in your own words in English. That's the only way you can check your progress based on how you are doing along with your textbook.}
