書き取りとは一体なんでしょう？
What is a drill exercise?

これをする目的は、ひとえに暗記するためです。
You do it, and you memorize whatever you are drilling.

よく「ダイス〜、何回書き取ってくればいーい？」と子どもたちに聞かれます。
My students often ask me how many times they shall copy English words.

結局１０回ずつと答えますが、それに付け加えて、その単語を覚えてしまったらその時点で次の単語に移っていいよといいます。
I usually end up telling them to copy 10 times followed by saying "Move on to the next word if you have memorized it".

子どもたちには、書き取りはあくまで暗記するための作業だということを強調するためです。
I say it to let them realize they are copying English words to memorize them with emphasis.
