非日常体験
For the last few weeks, I spent lots of time with the police as an interpreter in two cases.
I went to Iiyama police station, Nakano police station, Chuo police station, Nagano prosecutors office, and Nagano district court to help communication between the interrogators and the suspects.
There were many rooms that only those who commit a crime normally go.
One thing I learned from this experience was that we really shouldn't get involved with a crime as a suspect.

明日9月29日（月）ですが、長野県警から取り調べの通訳業務を依頼されたため、
イングリッシュCafe をお休みとさせていただきます。
金曜日と土曜日は現在のところ平常どおりです。

What you give is what you get no matter if you like it or not.
You may give more when you are younger, and get more when you get older, and vice versa.

非日常
We are always pretty much in the real world.
What we do, see, hear, and experience are all real.
Is the reality like water for fish?
I don't think so.
It's more like we're being killed very slowly in contaminated air everyday.
Then some unrealistic activities come in, that is called recreation.
We have to both strengthen our body and inhale different air.

成長の条件
There are two kinds of growth.
No matter if we do anything or not, we physically grow.
Besides, there's another type of growth which something has to be done for.
The latter one needs a great deal of support from others because we can't measure our growth by ourselves.

丸裸の状態
We don't tell everything to a stranger.
No matter how close we get to know others, it doesn't mean that we get to know everything.
In the police investigations, suspects have to tell everything even though the officers and suspects don't know each other basically.
Once arrested, our privacy means nothing in front of the police officers.
They will know what you do, who you are and anything you don't want to tell others because it's too private.
I wondered how much our clothes can do during the police investigations.

疑う仕事
Some occupations need to start with trusting.
Some others need to start with suspecting.
The former sounds better though, it's not always true.
No matter if we trust or not to someone, a truth will come up soon or later.
Sometimes I feel doubting and trusting might be the same thing.
They both depend on reasons.
Without good reasons, you can't even trust nor doubt.
Trusting is as hard as doubting.

外見の不利
How it looks creates more truth than it actually is.
It might be dangerous if that is true in everything.
Sadly, ordinary people don't seek truth as long as they are adequately amused.
Now media is pretty good at amusing people rather than delivering them truth.

先週から、長野県警に依頼され事件の通訳をしております。

結果は量
Results are results no matter if they are good or bad.
There are results because you've done something, otherwise not.
Much can't be done about the quality of results, but whatever you do brings one.
It's more important to see if there's a good or bad result rather than if there's any results in the first place.

平等って？
Equality sounds great.
It's what most people want.
They do even though they don't know they don't want.
Everyone is different.
If everything is equal, there also can't be any difference along them.
Because they all admit there are differences, they pursuit equality.
We sometimes have to think of what we really want more than twice before we speak of equality.

警鐘だけ？
Alarms with high severity have been going off here and there.
They do in the form of speeches given by highly conscious people, statistics shown by famous professors and so on.
The question is, are we listening to them?
The facts that are threatening us don't do much, but actions we take based on them do.
Things around us are changing over time, so we also have to change along them.
I believe we are able to make that happen.

成長の速度
It's not easy to measure how much I grew mentally, although it is physically.
A physical growth of another seems much faster than I've imagined.
Then, I feel that my further mental growth is becoming more and more necessary.
