Stepping back and looking from the outside of the box is sometimes necessary.

It could be rephrased as taking a vacation though.

I'll see what I'm going to find out from this trip.

I may realize something important. 

教室の生徒さんを語学留学先のマレーシアにお連れして、現地でアパート探し、銀行口座開設、学校の入学手続きをお手伝いしてきます。
帰国は5月2日深夜です。
そこまでするの？！って聞かれますが、はい、そこまでします。
出発は28日深夜のフライトです。


 

育児 → 出張 → 育児 → 地方検察庁通訳業務 が重なってしまい、お休みの連絡です。

夕べ寝落ちしてしまいました(笑)

I've never been happy to be short of sleep.

Even though it's not my cup of tea, I'm just happy to take the time alone with my daughter.

Watching over her, I've been more determined to make a good father. 

Kids grow super fast.

Yet the speed of growth of a new born baby is even faster.

My baby girl grows every second.

So I don't want to miss a thing.

I think she looked at me and smiled at me.

I already felt my efforts were worthwhile. 

For how long will I able to watch over you like this?

Someday, you will tell me to stop doing so.

Until then, let me sit beside you so that I can take a good look at you.

Please let me be watching you. 

I respect all mums who are taking care of their babies all by themselves from the bottom of my heart.

The only way to share the similar feeling with them is to jump into their world.

Waking up every hour to feed the baby and check on the baby's nappy in the middle of night is really hard...

Now I'm getting used to it though. 

Parenting starts from Day 1, that's what I had believed until yesterday.

I was wrong.

It actually starts from Day 0.

A new born baby is 0 year old.

He or she has 365 days to become 1 year old.

How fortunate it is for me to realize this before too late. 

This is it.

It's what I exactly wanted to experience.

I became a father.

My responsibility skyrocketed.

Now I'm taking care of her.

 

Welcome to this world.

There is not much we can do to you at this moment.

So we'll try hard to find more things to offer later on.

You'll learn a lot from not only from us, but also from this world.

We will learn as well.

We'll promise to make you happy. 

A little life in my arm is someone I must protect for the rest of my life.

妻は分娩室。

今日、初めて、反原発や集団的自衛権の問題で声を上げている人たちの気持ちが分かった気がする。

母親がこんなに苦しい思いをして産まれてこようとしている子どもを、放射能や戦争に晒すなんて信じられない。

ただ、信じられない。

命って、メチャクチャ重いんだ。

そして、その命を宿す女性は、絶対に軽んじられる存在であってはならないんだ。

フルマラソンを走り終えて以来、また人生観に変化が訪れた気がします。

マレーシアで見聞きしてきたことは、衝撃的だった。
人々は日々、人種差別や格差の壁と戦っている。
歴然とした貧富の差がある中で、貧困層、中流階級、そして上流階級が存在する。
マレーシア人といっても、マレー系、中国系、インド系、中東系と様々だ。
大まかに言えば、行政機関にはマレー系、経済を動かしているのは中国系、産業を動かしているのはインド系といった感じだ。
人種による差別は横行していて、人種により受けるサービスの値段が違うこともあるという。
さらに、マレーシアでは依然としてわいろの授受が行われているようだ。
警察官の給料はかなり低い、飲酒運転や駐車違反などで捕まった場合は、警察官の方からわいろの具体的な指示があるという。
飲酒運転なら１万円くらい、駐車違反では数千円で勘弁してもらえるようだ。
ネガティブな部分はこのくらいで、マレーシアには計り知れない可能性が眠っている。
例えば教育。
マレーシアには若者がたくさんいる。
教育は将来の職業選択の上でかなり重要だ。
近年では、欧米の大学がマレーシアにどんどん進出してきている。
分野も様々で、今後優秀な人材がどんどん世界に羽ばたいていく。
マレーシア人の多くはバイリンガルかマルチリンガルだ。
公共教育でも、小学校から授業は英語で行われている。
マレーシア語教育も組み込まれていることから、社会に出る段階では最低でも２か国語はしゃべれるのだ。
外国語が喋れるということは、即ち職業選択にプラスに影響する。
職業は最終学歴で専攻した分野がものをいう。
つまり、中流階級のマレーシア人の多くは高校の比較的早い段階で将来をある程度描いているのだ。
人種の壁や貧富の格差を差し引いても、マレーシア人は優秀だ。
最低２か国語をしゃべれるというのは、外国語としての語学力というよりは、ネイティブレベルで２か国語以上しゃべれるという方が正しいかもしれない。
今後日本人は、世界という舞台を見据えたとき、何を強みに闘っていけばいいのか頭を抱えてしまう。
