It's good for not only the Japanese tourists but also the tourists from overseas to travel around Nagano city with those bicycles for free!

ん？後輪にロックが… そして辺りを見回しても受付らしきものや、申し込み方法などの掲示物が見当たらない…
Hmm..., I see a wire lock in the back wheel... Where the hell is the rental counter? Even a piece of paper with the information about how to rent the bike would help ...

何があったんだ〜っ？！

 

本日２月２７日（日）、１４：００から１６：００までトイーゴ TOiGO ４階で、長野郷土史研究会主催の「もんぜん仏教入門　—仏都長野で学ぶ仏教の基礎知識—」というイベントが開催されました。
Today, (February 27th, Sunday, 14:00-16:00 at TOiGO on 4th floor), there was an event called "Introductory seminar on Buddhism - Basic knowledge about Buddhism and Zenkoji temple to live in this Buddhist town Nagano - " hosted by Organization of Study of Local History of Nagano.

このイベントに参加して強く感じたのは、今後ますます国際化する門前観光に関わる上で、ある程度仏教を知らないといけなかったなということです。英語でいえば、ダイスよりも英語が堪能な日本人は星の数ほどいるわけで、それが近い将来にダイスより善光寺や仏教のことを英語で語れる日本人は、少なくとも長野にはそんなにいないというふうになれたらいいな、と思ったわけです。
I strongly felt that I needed to know Buddhism to be actively involved in tourism of the neighborhood of Zenkoji temple any further. I would say that there are heaps of the Japanese people who can speak English more fluently than me. What if I'll be the only one who can talk this much about Zenkoji temple and Buddhism in English ?

　仏教はインドに起こり、日本に伝来しました。
善光寺のいわれを語る「善光寺縁起」は、日本への仏教伝来の物語です。
また、特定の宗派に属さない善光寺は、逆に多くの宗旨とかかわってきました。
善光寺と関連づけながら仏教の基礎を学びます。
若い方にも気軽にご参加いただけるよう、門前を平仮名にしました。

参加費：１，０００円　事前申し込み不要

２月１９日にカネマツにオープンしたカフェ、rubber soul （ラバーソウル）で今から英会話トレです♫

I'm at a new cafe just opened on February 19th in the Kanematsu office building. I'll be teaching English in a few minutes time.

善光寺門前で７：３０（水曜定休）からモーニングがいただける喫茶店 プリム さん。もうすでにダイスお気に入りのカフェです☆
今朝は、お芋が入ったふんわりこんがりなトーストで大満足♫
Already one of my favourite cafes in the neighborhood of Zenkoji Buddhist Temple, is Purim.
It's one of a few cafes which serve breakfast menu and are open from 7:30(close on Wednesdays).
I kicked a happy start of the day with a toast with sweet potato crunch inside, which were very soft inside and crispy outside.

英語を教える立場で思うことがある。

それは、語学習得は語学習得で終わっていいのだろうか、と。

It's not fun until you are good at it.

確かに、ある程度語学が得意なレベルに達するまで、面白いと感じないかもしれないのは事実だ。

とはいえ、レベルが上がるにつれ面白くなくなってくる部分もある。

今までは英語がうまいとか、へただとか、そういう次元にいたのが、そこを通り越すと英語がどうこうではなくなってくる。

何か自分の考えだったり、何かの仕組みについて論理的に話さなくてはいけないときにたまたまコミュニケーション手段が英語になる時期が来る。

この領域まで来ると、教科書はない。

先生もいない。

どうするかといえば、ひたすら原文の関連書籍を読み漁るしかなくなる。

それは決してマイナスのことではない。外国語での表現力が上がるということは、母国語での論理的思考にも何らかの影響をおよぼすのだ。

自分の中に起きている変化といえば、表現する言葉がよりコンパクトになってきているということだ。限られた時間の中で、最大限の情報伝達を行うには、伝達事項をなるべく簡潔に伝える必要がある。

なかなかうまくはいかない。ヒントはある。だから意識的に情報伝達の仕方を変えていこうと思う。




 

あぁっ、また似たような場所でクロ猫が目の前を横切った．．．

そして思う、そのうち自分の身に何か起こるのか．．．？！
I wonder if anything bad is happening to me ... ?!

と、心配していた。
I was really worried.

そして今日あるおうちの前を通り過ぎたとき、中にクロいものが。
Today, when I was going past in front of a house, something black caught my attention.

いた！クロ猫！
There, it is. The black cat!

しかも２匹！！！
Actually TWO !!!

どうりで。しかも確立２倍だしっ！
No wonder. The odds are DOUBLE!

あぁ、すっきりした（笑）
Now I feel much better LOL
