苺とハーブ
イチゴの花が咲きました！
The strowberry's flower is blooming!
といっておいて、実は撮影の最中に花びらが一枚散ってしまいました。残念．．．
...Well, actually a piece of the flower fell during the shooting. How sad...
奥からパセリ、右がタイムで手前がオレガノです。特にオレガノの成長が著しいです。
You can see parsley in the back, thyme on the right and oregano in the front. Oregano's growing especially faster than others.
パセリにアブラムシが付いているのにもっと早く気づいていれば．．．しょんぼり。
I wish I had noticed those aphids eating parsley earlier... Sigh...

青木島の猫
この時期、野良猫が増えるんですよね。
There are more and more stray cats around this time of year.
このコたちの末路は考えたくないですが、ただただ元気でいてほしいです。
I just hope to see them sound and lively, although it's pain to think about their consequences...

善光寺の猫
善光寺境内の北西にある茶屋。
There's an open cafe in the north west of Zenkoji Buddhist temple's compound.
そこはかなり昔からあるオープンな「猫カフェ」であるようだ。
"Cats cafe" is now popular in Japan though, it seems to have been it for many years.
猫たちはだいたい茶屋周辺にいるが、割と善光寺本堂の北側でも見かける。
The cats usually stay around the cafe, but they walk further to the main hall sometimes.
昨日のような暑い日には、ひんやりとした墓石が気持ちいいのだろうか．．．
I found one of them in the graveyard. I wonder if the stone is cool and comfortable in a hot day like this...
癒されました。
I had a great healing time there.

帰りがけにザコウスイセンを一輪いただきました。香りがまるでジャスミンのよう…
The shop owner gave me a flower called "Zakou-suisen", which smells like jasmine...

カメラってなんでカメラっていうんだろう？

ということで、語源を調べてみました。
That's why I looked it up on the web etymology dictionary.
カメラって、もともとラテン語で「部屋」という意味だったようです。
This word "camera" comes from Laten, meaning "room".
昔は、写真を撮るのにわざわざ部屋を用意する必要があったんですね。
They needed a room to take pictures in the early days of photograph.
今では片手に収まる大きさで、自由に持ち歩けます。
But now, it's so small as to be able to hold it in a hand and carry it around.
もうこれ以上小さくしなくてもいいんじゃないでしょうかね。
Isn't it unnecesary to make it even smaller anymore?

夜風と桜
日中は暖かくても、やはり夜は少々肌寒い。
It's pretty warm in the day time, but it's a little bit chilly in the night.
防寒着を盾に夜風の中を進む。
I go forward in the windy night in warm clothes.
善光寺と城山の間の風景は桜もあいまってとても風流だった。
Sceneries between Zenkoji Buddhist temple and the Joyama area are so gracious, especially with cherry blossoms.

西之門の桜
老舗の酒蔵 「西之門 よしのや」 さんは、善光寺の交差点を東に行ったところの角にあります。
There's a historic sake brewery "Nishi-no-mon Yoshinoya" on the corner east from the Zenkoji intersection.
試飲もでき、同じ敷地内にある 「レストラン さくら」 さんでは食事もできます。
You can try for tasting most of their sake and have meal at Restaurant Sakura in the same premises.
このレストランの名前にもなっているとおり、桜がとてもきれいです。
The name of the restaurant is Sakura. It means a cherry blossom. As its name says, you can see an astonishing view of cherry blossoms in full bloom when the timing is right.

チューリップ
朝の散歩はダイスの習慣で、頭を空っぽにする時間であり、そして運がいいと何かがひらめく時間でもある。
My taking a walk in the morning is my semi-daily routine. I spend this time for emptying my head and, at them same time, coming up with new ideas when I'm lucky.
チューリップがとても愛らしくて、じーっと見ていた。
Those tulips were so pretty. I was staring at them for a while.

春はいいなぁ～。
I like spring.
今日はちょっと寒いけど、暖かい格好をしていれば平気♪

雨がふったりやんだりには正直参った。
I was troubled by this rain, which started and stopped suddenly all day.
こんな日でも春は春。

キティパーク
千曲市にある「キティーパーク」なる山の斜面にある公園を探検してきました。
I went to have a little adventure in a park called "Kitty Park" in Chikuma City. It's situated in the middle of the slope in the mountain.
こんな桜の名所もあるんだなぁと、感動しながら眺めていました。
I was amazed to see how blind I was not to be able to find such a nice sakura cherry blossoms viewing point like this and gazing at the blossoms
