先日アメリカのユタ州で、何千羽という渡り鳥が地面に突っ込んだことがニュースになりました。
どうやら駐車場を池と誤認して突っ込んだみたいですね。

この、「mistaking parking lots for ponds」という表現。実に興味深いですね〜。
mistake A for B ということで他にも色んな場面で応用できそうです。
例えば．．．
"I mistake salt for sugar"
「塩と砂糖を間違える＝砂糖だと思って間違って塩を入れてしまった」（Aが間違ってしまったもので、Bが本来正しいもの）
ありえそうですね（笑）
