北アルプスって、名前だけだとどこにあるのかイマイチ想像できない．．．
Northern Alps..., I can't imagine its whereabout from the name.

調べてみると、飛騨山脈　＝　北アルプス　とあった。
I looked into it and found out that it's also known as Hida Mountain Range.

飛騨かぁ。
Oh, Hida is it?

岐阜県に飛騨高山があるから、大体位置は想像できた。
Because I know the Hida-takayama area in Gifu Prefecture, now I can imagine where it's about.

この飛騨山脈は、富山県、新潟県、長野県、そして岐阜県にかかっているようだ。
These Hida mountains touch Toyama Pref., Niigata Pref., Nagano Pref. and Gifu Pref. it appears.

飛騨山脈の中で一番高い山は奥穂高岳（３１９０メートル）で、日本で３番目に高い山だそうです。
The highest mountain among these is Oku-hotakadake mountain(3190m). It's Japan's 3rd highest one.

そしてこの地域は国立公園に指定されていて、中部山岳国立公園というそうです。
This mountainous area is also designated as a national park named "Chubu-sangaku-kokuritsu-koen".
